Hi all need a competent handsfree kit installer in kent area to fit a bury kit to a half bose audi. Its turning into a mini battle to get this thing fitted in the way i wanted so any assistance would be appreciated.

Mods not certain this is the right place to post this but would appreciate if it can be left here to get coverage as may kill someone or something soon due this being so f ing complicated.

Amongst its many talents....

Problem is that i have a half bose system in my a4 and this is causing huge headaches in setting it up to work as shown in the youtube vid. Need extra adapters etc to get it to work and therefore need an installer to fit it.

Sadly tried local but they were unsure of how to proceed. Spoken to various others all of whom said they would look into it and get back to me but didnt seem sure how to proceed and infact never called back.

However may have just lucked out and spoken to two guys who seem to know the issue and how to resolve and have been told ill get a call later today or tomorrow.

Where are you located?

Looks like a good kit, seems they have moved on a bit since I last fitted my hard-wired Nokia CARK, splacing radio cables and running power lines to the battery etc.

I have the RNS-E in my A4 with factory bluetooth which is quite impressive. From what I understand most hands free kits should just link up to the Radio ISO connector?

If your wanting to use the radio-mute and play through the speakers function, this is where things get tricky - especially if you want the MP3 functionality (as it means running it through the Bose amp, somehow).

Yup and there is the problem. Half bose screws things up.

It is very clever though.

Auto dimming also the only handsfree which can pair with more than one device a2dp music streaming etc etc etc.

Audi a4 01 concert stereo based in kent.

Good choice!

I fitted my own! And what a great piece of kit it is. (wouldn't fancy pulling an A4 to bits, though) wobble

Tbh it shouldnt(fingers crossed) require pulling the car apart. merely pull the stereo out plug all the gubbins in unless the rear amp has to have something plugged in, in which case anyone needing a kidney watch ebay one should come up for sale in the next few weeks.

I sadly have a history of making my life difficult. I always buy tech thats not that well known for my car like my origin b2 which was one of the early ones then the pogo nav which i helped find all the glitches on. Had two of them at one stage stuck to my windscreen.

I can only hope i can get it fitted in the next two weeks getting desperate now.

The only issue normally associated with Bose, is their use of low impedence speakers (Normally 2ohm, rather than 4 ohm in non Bose systems)

If that's the issue, using a low pass filter should sort it

What so it cuts out all the 'higher' frequencies above a certain point, how exactly will that help with the impedence of the Bose system?

OP have a look at this, but you have not realyy explained ' how you want it fitted', so I maybe wide of the mark.

What am i meant to be looking at???? confusedtongue out

Ok the unit itself comes with a switchbox and leads so technically all you need do is get the relevant cables for your stereo plug in and go and it will play audio in mono through front speakers only.

It can be adapted to play stereo reasonably easily however only on systems which are singgular. Ie all speakers run off radio amp or external amp.

Due to my system being front speakers run through stereo amp and rear speakers being seperately amped it creates some form of issue.

The idea is to wire it in stereo through all the cars speakers so i can play music from my phone through the car stereo.

Kit comes with this radio mute lead etc

Sorry just links to the product finder..

If you look in the Celluar lisitng and click on Power and Mute interfaces, select your car and click on search.

The radio mute lead that is provided with that kit will not allow sound to come through the Bose speakers or any other active system from the look of it in the picture, but now you have said what you want to do the Soundlinx interface will now power up all the speakers, only the front active ones.

To do what you want you would need to have an AUX input on your headunit, don't believe those Audi HU's have that feature other that the CD changer input.

Managed to find some guys who not only seem to know what they are talking about but also understand the concept of customer service and management. SO bored of all the "we'll call you back" and then they never bloody do.

Idiots.
