I've now helped out a few people who have taken the decision to come at the last minute. There is now a house available in Le Mans with three double bedrooms and one twin bedded to let for the week /weekend at 50 euros per room per night. Anyone interested contact me. That incidentally isn't 200 euros a night but if there are two rooms taken but 100 euros a night. Cheap at the price and a double garage available for your precious cars!

The Novotel is one of the dearest here during the main events. Even a 2 star Best Western is asking for 1,400 euros the four nights excluding breakfast. They ask what they like because they know they have you cornered. Hotel accomodation isn't that good here at Le Mans since it is a small town of 150,000 in normal times. Far better to ring the Le Mans tourist office who usually have B&B available at 50 euros a room a night. I fear for his bank balance but like you can hope he get's some back. It wouldn't surprise me if they relet it without telling him either.

Or there's the wonder that is Google smile I found our group what looks like a gorgeous B&B in Le Mans for Wednesday night (since the campsite isn't open) - and it's 60 Euros a night including breakfast, and secure underground parking. I hope it's as lovely as it looks on the website

I did book it eight months ago, but still the point is that - as you say - there is some economically-priced accommodation around if one searches about

You should be able to cancel Novatel Le Mans up to 6.00pm on the day of arrival at no cost, or did you pay up front?
