I used to put V Power unleaded in my last car as it was mildly tuned petrol turbo and remappers recommend that you use super unleaded for reliability as well as performance. My (ahem) smelly, agricultural GermanTurboDiesel has been mildly fettled (decat, exhaust, remap) and naturally I started putting V Power diesel in. However when i've put the lesser stuff in, I dont see much difference (ECU doesn't pull back the power) which is the reason why I am asking this question. I've never heard pistons melting etc in remapped and tuned diesels which would happen if you'd used lesser fuel in some tuned petrol turbos.

Thank you in advance

I'm not a fan of VPower Diesel. When I tried it I got less economy (= less power in a Diesel?), but the car did seem smooth. Apparently the target range for the density of the VPower is low, and it is the density which determines economy.

I now use BP or Shell standard fuel. BP Ultimate Diesel is much better than VPower IMO, always got great economy from this, so better power is a possibility also, but it costs a bit more than standard fuel.

i have tried it twice by accident, neither time getting any perceivable benefit. I think the V-Power brand usage is a bit of an error, as it isn't power oriented, but supposedly economy. Load of st if you ask me,
