Seized Engine! HELP!
Discussion
Hi guys, been away for a while and returned to my trustee VW 2000 Polo, X reg!
Unfortunately i think the engine is ceased!
Bought a new battery, full tank of fuel and i thought I'd be away, So wrong!
I have tried putting the car in gear, tried all 6 gears including reverse and the car will not move.
Any suggestions where to begin?
Cheers!

My next door neighbour knows a bit about cars,
<Sniff Sniff Sniff, what can I smell here.....??>Anyways, assuming this is a genuine post - engines do NOT seize solid from being left, not unless you took the plugs out and removed the bonnet before you parked it up.
Are you saying the engine won't start? If the engine runs, then your handbrake is stuck on. If it doesn't, tow the car up the road and drop the clutch in a high gear. Report back!
Sorry to clear up,
I have not drove the car for 4/5 months,
I have filled the tank and put a brand new battery in it this morning,
all the electrics etc are fine and working,
it clicks when i try to turn it over,
but it will not start!
I dont know if it is ceased, just a guess I don't really know enough about engines.
Cheers,
James

Is there a "chugga-chugga-chugga" noise when you try to start the car, or just the click?but it will not start!
If it's just a click, chances are that your battery (ableit "new") doesn't have the cranking charge required to turn the motor over. (please check the car is in neutral, and also, to reduce the load, I would suggest trying to start with your foot on the clutch).
Try another car + a set of jump leads, that would be my recommendation
