Big improvement over the hatch but with subaru putting their prices up by 4% soon this will be touching 28k which is rather a lot of money.
If it drives like my old hawkeye I think I'd be very tempted

I'd like to replace my 55 plate wrx wagon, but the current hatch is just too impractical ( i'm not looking for a barge but the boot is tiny, and the slope of the glazing makes things worse.)
Chances are the saloon will have a lot more storage I guess.
Glad it can be had without ridiculous wingage; too old for that big wing now.
you are right on price; scoobies getting rare ( again ) and expensive

Because their one and only diesel is:a. not powerful enough
b. not fuel efficient enough
c. not installed in the STI bodyshell
The saloon does look better than the Hatch. But i have been warming to the hatch (especially in White)

I'm pretty sure I saw one of these on a transporter heading west on the M4 last night, along with a load of Isuzu pickups.
It looked pretty good but there's nothing on Subaru's UK site about it.

I really like it. £33K is a bit more than I would like to pay to be honest. Especially after the depreciation I suffered on my Hawk-Eye.

not all, I saw a fair few somewhere else, including a couple in that lovely dark blue, there will also be another variant coming soon but I am sworn to secrecy!
Yes new model will be out for next year
a freind said he is going to view it next summer in JapanZeonalarm said:
I'm assuming the JDM's still use the 2 litre as opposed to the UK which offically get the 2.5.

1 is listed as simply a 2 litre engine. Which could be a mistake .
More than likely
But if a JDM worth snapping up
A few friends have driven the one at Crossroads,
They were VERY impressed with it as "Out the Box" Suspension and steering MUCH better than the "Out the Box" UK Hatch IMHO IIRC

I was referring to another variant of this saloon, which would make the line up complete...

The "Spec C" with half leather is already advertised in UK at £33k
The Impreza 2.0lD RC and 2.0lD RX diesels imprezas are known to be coming to UK

so you most mean the Subaru B9-TBH Hybrid version(Toyota)
I thought it wasn't due to be released till August, they must be early
August 2010, the 2011 "NEW" B11 model is released also with 2WD & 4WD versions

IMHO, IIRC

I like the saloon too, I had 2 classics including RB5 and the depature to hatch was dissapointing.
I however feel that the price puts it beyond the original appeal of the Scooby as it originally was(low cost, big performance).
To put my argument into perspective other fast saloons are available at this price point:

I see what you are saying but the WRX is still keenly priced when compalred others. I however feel that the price puts it beyond the original appeal of the Scooby as it originally was(low cost, big performance).

If you compare like with like a new Impreza Sti in similarly priced with the Focus RS and also the BMW130i.
When you start bring used cars into the mix it is a compeltely different ball game.
