Vehicle Data Checks - HPI etc

I'm going to look at a private sale used car tomorrow, something I haven't done for about 10 years. I understand I need to get a data check done, to check for finance/crash etc.

Which is best? I'm guessing the text checks are useless, or are they?

The text checks have most of the basic information and IIRC do not have a guarantee if the info is out of date, so good to vet a car before you go to look, but would sensibly be backed up with a full report prior to handing over the loot

That one appears not to give outstanding finance (in the UK)

Use a decent internet one the text ones are pretty poor generally.
