Happened to someone I worked with in her Clio (because it definitely wasn't a manufacturing defect 
) while she was overtaking a truck on an A-road. I was extremely impressed that she had the sense of mind to bend down low to see under the bonnet, and keep her foot in until she was past the truck. I'm pretty sure I would have crashed quite badly.
