McLaren forum under 'Other Marques'?
Discussion
Seems like a good idea that the best British website for discussing cars should have a section for discussion of the best British marque - especially that they're now building their own line of cars.
Most topics discussing the MP4-12C have ended up in the Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini & Bugatti forum now which seems a bit out of place.
Thanks for the consideration.

...but not of discussion of the brand.
These forums have always worked on the principal that if there is enough discussion about a particular topic that is swamping a section then we move it to its own area. In this instance there isn't an appropriate area for the discussion in the first place so that is what we need to think about. The same would go for other supercar manufacturers such as Pagani, Koenigsegg, Weismann etc.

That's all very understandable. I just figured that if Gilbern could have a forum and TVR could have 16...
Suffice to say I think the McLaren related threads/postings are bound to increase in the next 12-24 months and having a forum dedicated to the brand would be great. Anyway, I'll just look forward to whatever decision is made. Thanks!

I think it is understood that cars like the new McLaren, Paganis and Koenigseggs are discussed in the Ferrari, Maser.... forum.
If there is a "Supercar" forum there will be problems with people who think their cars are supercars, but are annoyed if
their thread is moved.
As the market for these types of cars is ultimately quite small, many posters (including me) do not actually own the cars so we come on to read the insights of those who have them, enjoy them, hate them and despair over deciding which gearbox to go for.
Also, as many of the owners/admirers of the cars across these brands are probably the same people, to segregate them across multiple forums would be messy. Cars like Ultimas, which are obviously "Supercars", have their own following and it makes sense that they are segregated because it is unlikely that someone is trying to decide between one of them and a 430 Spider.
I think the best thing is to leave as it is, or modify the name of the forum (slightly).
