Hi,

I'm going to France on holiday in a few weeks and wondered if anyone here knew how to change the front headlight direction on an e39, without using those horrible stickies? In the manual it talks of a lever to slide, is it the black circular disc that sits above the headlight case?

Yeah I think that black circle pops out and there is a lever inside. Just be a bit careful as the adjusters inside E39 headlights are a known weak point, and break pretty easily.

You twist them about 45 degrees anti-clockwise to open them. Using the lever inside does not swivel anything btw, it just blocks the part of the beam that would shine into the faces of oncoming traffic.
