Q for Police how you use detection equipment
Discussion
So, safety equipment causes a whole bunch of traffic doing nobody any harm to emergancy brake. That'll improve road safety.
I'd suspect that he probably didn't get a reading fast enough.
And even if he did, the chances of then sending the NIP to the US are slim to none. Who was the car registered to?

Can't say for certain, without knowing what type of camera it is. If it is a straigtforward laser, then they can operate up to 1 km away. Usually, once zapped, the Police car will zoom after you and pull you in order to give you the ticket. So I'd say you're probably safe.
If you are living in the USA, I'd say you're sitting pretty in any case. Assuming an NIP lands on a UK doorstep, get someone to give your details. Then what are they gonna do? Not a lot is the answer.

You forgot to mention the fact that they were braking the law.
Pah. A mere technicality.
Seriously, you must have seen similar. Light traffic, everyone making progress. No problems until the cop car doing 60 in the inside lane and a rolling roadblock on the motorway as everyone suddenly does 70.2mph.......
