As above really.
Ive seen some clips on you tube with rwd impreza wrx's and evo's etc and was wondering of the cost and the amount of work something like this would take to do.
How reliable would it be and who does such conversions ?.
Any info would be helpful.
Thank you in advance.

Remove the front driveshafts.

Basically free.

This may not be a good long term solution smile

Reece Millen converts Evo 7/8/9's to RWD, I think it's mainly just removing the front driveshafts.

Google Reece Millen Racing, I'm sure you will find some useful info.

Cheapest solution is lock the center diff (failure to do this will result in lots of revs and nothing much else) and remove the front drive shafts. But you might want to upgrade the rear diff and drive shafts as well.

Also, remember than because a typical 4wd performance road car tends to have 2 things

1) rather a lot of weight up front

and

2) the torque split pretty much with the weight distribution (to get good traction)

if you make it rwd only it will be very very tail happy

We had a 2wd scooby, and it basically was almost undrivable without modifying the suspension etc (power on = oversteer, power off = oversteer, makes a tricky car to drive!!)
