I bought a 360 spider F1 about a month or so ago (2003) and so far I've got to say I'm absolutely loving it. Such an occasion to drive compared to my previous cars and the attention it recieves is on the most part very positive.

With regards to problems to look out for then try the Club Scuderia forum, there's a wealth of information on there and plenty of owners willing to share experiences etc. also Walkersport have got a good buying guide here: http://www.walkersport.co.uk/360-buying-guide.htm

IMO there isn't anything else really at this sort of money that is as special and usable as a 360. Good luck and enjoy the search.

Is that the same walker sport the just bought a 360 for 32k telling the owner it was a pile of crap then within 24 hours have it up for 40k...... Business I guess
Would that be the car thats up for £32,500 on their website with the warning about getting it inspected before you buy...

That would be the same Tim who's got a pretty decent reputation in that area of the market and as somebody else has already pointed out, is selling that car for almost the same amount paid wink

Tim has a very good reputation. If he bought a 2003 car for £32k then probably it was crap. If he advertised it for £40k the same day then I should think the car would not have been available to buy immediately - it would have been away having thousands of pounds spent on it to turn it into a good car.

OP, if you want one and can afford it, then go for it. You only live once. Perhaps in a few years trade her up for an F430......

i just bought a 360 coupe manual, 2003 w/ 20kmiles...and coming from a 993turbo S spec X50 430bhp this are my inital thoughts (after 5days):

Unfortunately (fortunately for the new owner) my 993turbo S spec was in top condition, everything on it was new, and it scored +450bhp on rolling road a couple days before it sold

...and my 993TT pulled much better than my brother's 996turbo cab (which is in perfect condition) and felt alot tighter (sorry to 996turbo lovers, but this is both his and my opinion)

I wanted to scratch the F-itch, and i am doing it at the moment really hoping it will grow on me...but yes this is a temporary thing; waiting for 997GT3 mkII to drop around 70-75kGBP and i'll pick up a red or white one (next summer or the following winter)

so the 360:
- better noise
- more linear
- sexy look, every kid in the street stops by
- more roomy for both driver/passenger
- yes it's a ferrari, there is something about it i cannot describe

the 993turbo S spec
- sexy as hell from the back, huge bum
- kick in the bum when accelerating
- better feedback from steering
- but super expensive to fit the right exhaust to get the right grunt (i spent >4kGBP)
- discrete
- more room to travel (i fitted 2 snowboards behind the seats)
- alot quieter when cruising at 80-100mph which makes it perfect as a trans-european car
- and i think it's faster, actually for sure it is faster (officially X50 430bhp, but it clocked more, and it's all standard)

they are completely different but i'm definitely a Porsche man stuck with a Ferrari (my "car man" Clive actually picked it up to day to do a couple bits and bobs...he's happy to take it back as soon as i'm back from my France 2kmile trip and sell it if really it doesn't grow on me and i won't loose a penny!)

At the moment 360s are looking like a bit of a bargain, as long as you get a good one. Make sure you get an inspection done on any car you’re planning on buying because a couple hundred quid for an inspection isn't much compared to the price of a new engine!

One thing I would ask is, are you planning on using the car everyday or as a weekend toy? If your planning on using it everyday then I would really think about it if I were you. I bought a 430 spider in December and use it everyday and it is fantastic! It's very comfy, has a pretty big boot for the type of car and has decent visibility. The problem is though that it is still a Ferrari! So you have to think very hard about where you park it. It does only have 2 seats which can be a bit limiting but really isn't the end of the world and the nose is very low, so speed bumps have to be taken with GREAT care.

As for common problems with 360s I'm not that sure to be honest, as already said Walkersport have a buyer’s guide on their website that’s pretty helpful.

Hope that helps

As for Walkersport offering £32k for a car, that’s not that unreasonable to be honest. If he is planning on selling it at £40k then he probably had to spend a good few £K to get it up to scratch. Bear in mind a service could be near enough a grand for a major service, then if that car needs some paint that could be another grand, then if the seats need redone that could be a good few hundred quid. I've never used Walkersport but he has answered questions I've asked on here etc and always came across as a nice guy. Plus he seems to have a very good reputation on here.

I am even more confused as the car was purchased for 32k by Walker instantly put up for 40k (within 24 hours) and then dropped to 32.5k again, all this tells me is that a quick purchase by a trader to grab a bargain/profit has ended in misery and the car is a bit of a pig,(and they want their money back) which they had not fully realised at the time of purchase.
