E39 Auto Trans Cooler Hoses

Hi, thanks for reading my post,

I have a 2001 E39 540. The cooling hoses that connect to the water to oil heat exchanger for the Auto are weaping. On the surface that look like they have some kind of release mechanism.

I was wondering whether anyone out there might have experience of disconnecting these? Is it a simple case of putting pressure on the collet looking piece and pulling on the hose?
