Just buy new wheels and get them powder coated, the original finish is diabolical and 2nd hand ones are too expensive for what they are. A 106 Rallye is a great motor, just be careful of the liftoff oversteer. It is fast enough to really enjoy at non licence losing speeds on fast bumpy "b" and "c" roads.

How much did it set you back?

£1100, bought from a guy who's owned it since 1998.
Jeeez! Mileage? thats a potentially cracking bargain there!

Was marshalling the PSOOC day at Prescott Hillclimb on Sunday. Hasn't helped at all with me wanting one of these. That or a 306 GTI6. They look great fun.

So here it is, not the cleanest of Rallyes but give me time.

No real plans except for a good valet, book a dentmaster, paint the wheels, mini service, enjoy.

Looks a bargain and will be even more satisfying after some tlc.

Get it mint and you may even make a small profit if you decide to sell

I don't plan on selling it any time soon, mind you I've not really driven it yet so I may hate it!

You'll love driving it smile
Here's my s1 16v xsi

As said, watch for the oversteer on lift off! Great fun though biggrin

ETA: If you feel it hasn't got quite the power you want, fitting the 16v GTi lump and a set of PH2/3 cams and it goes like a rocket!
