Anybody had any grieve from pc plod on stick on front number plates

My mate has had a marcos for 30 years with stick on front plate, never had any probs. If your in doubt keep old one in boot if you get pulled you can say you were at a show and swap it there and then.

The only problem I have with stick on number plates .. is . . they're unneccessary and look naff, other than that there's been very little noise on here for years about Plod stopping people for it. They're more worried about spacing and font, so keep that legible and they'll likely be fine with it.

No problems at all, I've had stick on plates on a couple of Jags and had no grief from plod. Thought about it on the Griff but not sure if it would look as good as the standard mount- now if you 'loose' the centre rail/bar maybe. However each to their own.

There's far more to worry about out there - incorrect size, spacing and font relating to plates alone - and plenty of that.

I'd say you would have to be very unlucky to actually get booked up for the offence.

The one I would always book for is misrepresentation - errant screws, messed about characters, spacing etc.

I've just had my Griff fail it's MOT for a small (but clear) number plate - apparently VOSA are getting the guarages to tighten up this. Still, they said a big standard plate velcrod for the test would be fine.
