Car to Pit Lane comms

Given the ups and downs of many tracks, line of sight type radios myst struggle.

I guess the F1 guys manage it by virtue of on-track infrastructure.

Does anyone run a cost-effective alternative?

Your normal VHF radio will work fine I would have thought - they don't need to be line of sight

I was just wondering if there was a 'cheap' solution.

Planning to do some track days with my son and want to let him have the freedom of driving alone but with the ability to let me know that 'the car has stopped and the world's upside down' or me to ask him 'can I have a go now, please?'

Most pit to car radios use boosters to boost the gain on the signal. Speak to Autobytel for more info/advice.
