I picked up a clay bar kit which came with some "quick detailler".

It says to use in between washes, does this mean you just spray it on and wipe off an dirt on the car?

If so do you then rinse off?

Confused...

It can be used in several ways, to lubricate the clay (as you now know), to help with drying the car after rinsing (it eliminates water marks) and to give the car a quick shine up. The latter should be done on a clean car, albeit maybe a little dusty or having been rained on.

Quick detailers are usually a mixture of water and a cleaning solution which can be used as a clay lube or as a way to remove dust, fingerprints, bird lime etc from freshly cleaned paintwork. No need to rinse after use, just spray and wipe to keep a waxed car looking good.

As above, if the car is only lightly dusty, then a soft, long-nap, microfibre and QD can be sufficient to remove it, without afflicting the paintwork.
Alternatively, if you have a lambswool duster, you could use the electrostatic charge it has to remove the dust, before using the QD to wipe anything remaining.

Not really - heavier than wool duster.
