I don't know if anyone actually knows the full story here, but some Bentley drivers in London are getting pretty unlucky:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1292675/Th...

and also here August 2009 (unreported by the Dail Fail - may be a diff car looking at reg length)

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/1570171/...

Not ideal to say the least. Think I know where they are going to end up wink

Edit: With hindsight, it was most likely the chrome numbers that got nabbed. Not to worry!

Sounds like someone's got a set of Bentley locking wheel nut keys. Put it on steel wheels, that'll confuse them.

Stretched tyres on Bentley wheels. Fail.

Stretched tyres on any wheels fail infact.

The VAG modders do seem to be of the pikey variety, every Audi 80 had to have porsche 993 wing mirrors not so Long ago and plenty of people on their forums were happy to 'get some cheap, as I know where some are', was a thread on here similar to this one about the subject.

Targetting the same car seems odd.

I think they must have the socket to unlock them because they aren't going for the other GTs. But then why haven't the owners changed the locking nuts?

Special type of wheels maybe and getting drilled off?

Tell VW to stop being cheap and make the Bentleys with different hubs, 7 nut wheels or something. That'll confuse the fk out of anyone who nicks them!

Daily mail call it a 'baby Bentley'. Isn't that term usually used for 300Cs with Bentley grills?

Shocking that it's happened so many times. Obviously the anti-theft wheel nuts aren't anti-theft enough. The bill for repairs to his sills must be nearly as high as the cost of new wheels- those bricks don't look very bodywork friendly.

The very fact that they are actually compatible says everything that you need to know about the oft denied DNA of the cars.

As they have electronic tyre pressure monitoring, why don't Bentley write some software that activates the alarm if the tyre pressure goes from 3? to zero in a very short period?

Lamborghini wheels aren't safe either hehe

So thats VW, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, SEAT and Skoda with the same wheel fitment. Porsche Cayenne Audi Q7 and VW Touareg are probably the same too but thats a guess now. Any idea if they have the same fitting on Bugatti?

Its more the VAG "scene" that gets bashed as lets face it, it needs bashing as its dreadful.

p.s. I do own a 4motion and I'd never register on a VAG forum as each and every one I've looked at has been full of morons.

Not necessarily the same wheel fitment, there are ways and means.
