What bike rack?
Discussion
I have just started cycling again, and am hoping to ride both on road and off road.
So, I will need a bike rack. I have an old style Corsa, with a small spoiler.
What is the best option one of the boot racks, or one that goes on top of the car? I have not got a load of spare cash, so nothing super flash, but obviously it needs to be safe. I will have 1 or 2 bikes.

Does it have to go on a rack? I've got two large framed full sussers and two people in Corsa-sized cars plenty of times with the seats folded.
Sorry, probably stating the obvious there, but I have a bit of an issue with bike racks, so I can vouch for the fact that a bike with the wheels off will fit in some really unlikely cars!

I have had a look at the Saris website, it looks great, but it dosn't have Vauxhall as a make to check it will fit, and also which setting to have it on, as it seems to vary depending on the car. Has anyone tried it on a V reg Corsa, just so I am not wasting my money on something that dosn't work.
I was faced with this issue last week . . . wanting a saris but covered lights and numberplate. .
was going to go roof rack but the wife didnt fancy having to lift her bike when i wasnt around. .
So went with a halfords High Mount after a few mates said they used them (one going to the alps with it on). . . seems ok 59 quid at the moment from 90
I think as long as stops are made to check the straps it should be ok.

Going to flip the bike around so the rear wheel isnt into the road OR take wheels off and stick in boot. Ill see what works best

You need to be a bit careful with carrier where they rest on the back bumper. On the S2000, it depresses the bumper a little and can leave permanent damage.

Yeah it is a fury
Will keep my eye out for that! when i had 2 bikes loaded onto it there wasnet much movement on the bumper but somthing to look out for, thanks.
Duno how often i will use TBH. i got it as it was in the sale. Even if it only gets used a few times i have the option there instead of putting in the back of the car with the seats down
