I started a thread a few weeks ago about Christopher Ward watches and the C7 in particular...

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

This is the one I was fancying:

But someone suggested one of these which looks nice as well:

So, some questions:

1) Which is the 'better' watch?
2) Cna anyone suggest an alternative?

Looking for a chrono on a leather bracelet, smart enough to wear with a suit but waterproof and sturdy as well (think half-decent for holidays etc.) as it may be on the beach all afternoon and out for dinner at night...

All ideas appreciated!

Seiko SNDA65 :

Have a look at the Danish pilot chronos at the bottom of this page :

http://www.pilotur.dk/english/index_files/Page498....

Seagull mechanical chronographs http://www.seagullwatch.eu/chronographs.php if you want something non quartz and dressy.

G Shock GW 2000 does everything :

Seiko SNA225 is a good lump for the money I'm led to believe :

I'm guessing you were looking sub 300 pounds ?

The Tissot you posted is well regarded though, and would be many peoples first choice at this budget. If you like it, go for it. You'll sell it on no problem if it doesn't suit.

The Tissot V8 costs a tickle more, but looks all it's money I'm sure you'll agree :

.. bit dressy for me though.

Agoogy - nice watches but a little too modern for me. I think I'm after something quite traditional...

Sneijder - some good ones there. I like the Danish pilot and the V8 a lot...You surmise correctly about the budget smile

The Tissot PRC200 though, I like it but read a review suggesting that it was quite small which puts me off it a bit. I think I might have to get to a jewellers and have a look...

Any more for any more?

ETA - this seems quite nice:

Whack it on a leather strap etc.

I'm not sure about the CW C7. I mean it is a very close 'homage' or whatever you would like to call it to the Tag Carrera, and that would just annoy me to own, as its just too closely styled to something else more expensive.

My friend has the Tissot, and its a very nice watch.

Hmm, I'd never noticed it before but now you mention it, yeah! I think that might get annoying or at the very least look like I wanted a Carrera...

How big is your friend's Tissot? I prefer a larger watch tbh - does it look ok on his wrist?

Got the CW C& yesterday. I am not a massive fan of Tags but there is a similarity I guess. I would say however that I generally don't think the Tags are as well built or high quality as their price would indicate and FWIW, I think the CW is at least as good. Great value and frankly I love it. I am based in North London and work in Central so if you want a look anytime and you are round either area feel free to ask.

I think stocks are pretty low of the C7 though so if you want one, check out their sale and go for it!

For the record, I have no interest in the company at all, just really, really loving the watch!
