Hi Chaps

I'll be driving down tomorrow and fancy stopping for a decent nosh on the way rather than racing down the motorway, stopping in a cafe then racing again to get to the beer.

So, I shall be doing motorway to just south of Rouen (love that tunnel), stopping for a nice lunch and then heading down through the countryside for the remaining 150kms or so.

If anyone wants to tag along, just let me know. I'm on the 7:20am train.

I'm on the same train - yeah it would be good to stop for a lunch (maybe a beer) I'm in a red Alfa spider, so i might get there a little slower though....

Will be doing something similar - stopped for lunch in Gace last time. Will be with a mate, both in white 1988 911s. Will keep our eyes peeled...

Looks great but think it might be a bit too "early" for lunch for us... Heading for Gace, and a bar/restaurant on the corner of Grande Rue and the 722... I could remember the name :-(

Possibly? It'll be 9am at least by the time we disembark. Then 300kms to lunch, plus I am guaranteed to need a fuel stop in the big Fiat.

Just checking restaurants around Gace..

Here's a good lunch stop. It's not much south of Rouen just after the start of the old N138 (can't remember the new name). After joining this road you go down hill. At the bottom look out for an easily missed track on the right. Take this and hey presto, you'll find this restaurant>

Traiteur au Rendez-Vous d'Chasse Restaurant
Gare de La Londe
76500 South of Rouen

You may even see my son and I there on Friday. We're in his Range Rover.

R.

Sounds like fun. Im on the 7.50am train but will probably have to hang on for a couple of our group who are coming on a slightly later boat.

I'll keep an eye on this thread just in casebiggrin

Well, I am happy to wait for a little while at the first service station after you disembark (the one where everyone regroups).

I'll check in again later tonight...

On second thoughts, I might be pushing my luck a little with this...

We have a group of 14 booked for dinner in La Fleche tomorrow night so trying to plan lunch on top of the drive might be a little OTT. The 4.00am start wont help much either!biggrin

Happy to enjoy part of the run down together should our paths cross though.

You guys SO missed a trick with lunch.
Amazing meal.
Amazing setting.

For the princely sum of 22 euros.

So good, I had lunch on the way back as well!
