Next year, when the "11" plates come out there is a registration that I really want.

Is it possible to just buy a plate and put it on retention?

How can I buy it? I know there's a chance someone might beat me to it.

Go to www.dvla_som.co.uk for info.

Ring them up on the day of release with you card at hand.

No worries.

DO NOT CONTACT REGTRANSFERS OR ANY OTHER COMPANY ABOUT YOUR INTEREST.

They will have auto diallers etc. and buy it from under your nose and add a mark up.

Also certain reg no's will not go to release as they auction them themselves! I take it you will buy an 11 plate car at some stage then.

you can't put an 11 plate onto a 09 plate golf for example.
because it makes it look newer than it is.
unless your planning on keeping it on retention for a couple of years

You can't put the plate on a car older than it's age, the plate has to be as old or older than the car.

As above, you can only apply the reg to an 11, 61, 12 etc plate car.

Simply because its not right to make your car look newer than it actually is.
