I'm looking for a BEC/CEC and one consideration was a Tiger (open bodied). Sat in a Super 6 today and it was too small on leg room and seating width.

Other kits up for consideration are the Locost's, Fishers (Fury & Phoenix) & Sylva's.

Do the Tiger's come up small (I know there is the Super 6 XL) which has wider seating, but presumably they would still be the same on leg length?

I live in the Midlands (Stourbridge) and know the Locost group meet in Redditch which is where I will head for next, but in the meantime wanted to get some feel of where I should be looking.

I'm 6'2" and have most of my height proportioned in my body

TIA

There are so many different Tiger models I've never managed to work out which one is which

An MK Indy would be worth a try, you wont find anything much wider than that, except the Luego Viento.

It seems there's an awful lot of different models of kit car too ;-)

The seller had a Tiger brochure with all the variants - quite a few...

The XTEC Tiger is off the list, not just for the size issue, as I guess I was underwhelmed by the way it went with its 2l ZTEC - felt a little heavy, not all that nimble, and not that fast either. He reckoned it a 5secs to 60...

You can't really say for sure with kit cars as it depends so much on where the builder has placed the pedal box, how high the seats are (on runners?) and of course the type and size of seat, some are more upright than others.

Although you can definitely get an idea of what you might be able to fit in with a little modification. At 6ft 2 you are always going to be towards the top end of fitting for any car but for sure you will find something, it will just take time. I know that one of the head guys at Robin Hood is 6ft 5 or something and so he makes sure that all of the new cars have enough legroom for him to fit in so you should be okay looking at something like the Zero. Also i know that MEV cars are built to accommodate a bigger driver too.

Good luck with your quest.

Tigers: the '6' is narrower than a Supercat, guy i bought my Cat from was 6'2'' or 6'3'' - ( with normal sierra pdeal box ) of course depends how long your legs are, alwso as said above depends on the seating. plain 'pads' will give you more room than seats.

I'm 6'2", but with long legs, and also found the tigers didn't fit me when I was choosing what to buy (6 years ago). I think there is now a bit more choice on the widebody etc options from various makers.

I found the Striker & Mojo suited me well (Pedal box space especially good in the Mojo vs some sevens), Riot, Fury, J15 etc should also fit you fine based on my experience.

I found going to a show and sitting in as many different kits as possible was the best way to determine what suited my height!

Looks like I picked one of the smallest to try to get into first with the Super 6!

Good news about the Fury & Mojo as those are two I have been leaning towards

The Midland's guys are meeting up on Monday which I intend to attend - hopefully if I speak to them nicely I might be able to sit in a couple

NeilE - just seen pics of you in your red Mojo - very nice. You look quite comfortable in there
