Every driver should see this!

Sorry if this is a repost, but if you haven't seen this then you should:
It should be shown to all drivers, new and experienced. It made me think!
P.S. turn your volume up, I think the song helps.

Pointless video.
Competent drivers are already aware.
Idiots will take no notice.
Edit...
Might be useful for pedestrians, though, 85% of whom are at fault in injury accidents.
I completely agree, the people likely to have the sort of accident in the video aren't going to be influenced by this. I do think a lot more should be done though to hold parents responsible for their childrens actions on the road, if they are too young to take responsibility, the parents should be taking better care.Competent drivers are already aware.

how often do you see a parent wondering along texting or yaking on their mobile while their two or three year old runs along 50 meters ahead of them.

There will come a day when it is totally socially unacceptable to drive like a
in built up areas. Videos like this are crucial to achieveing that.Edited by peterbredde on Sunday 11th July 21:35

No it's not. It is carefully crafted messaging (call it propaganda if you wish) that is intended to change the belief and behaviours of those who are too stupid, too young or too inexperienced to realise that acting in a wreckless manner in their car can have tragic consequences for them and their victims. Can't see a problem with that. This isn't scaremongering. It is an attempt to alert its target audience to the very real dangers of their actions and consequently to save lives. Good thing too.
Because of the absence of proper road safety education, there will be no miraculous reduction in casualties. Get rid of the 'Brake' twaddle, and actually do something useful.peterbredde said:
Yes, ok then - "Brake". http://www.brake.org.uk/ Have a good look around the website. Why do you think this charity exists? Please feel free to quote some "drivel" from the site. Maybe you could also point out areas where it lacks "common sense".
Go and read (or watch) any test of the braking distances of a fairly modern car. I would recommend the Mazda 2 test that Jason Plato did on Fifth Gear. This is not an expensive performance car, it is an every day shopping trolley. Excluding reaction times, it stopped from 70mph in 25m. With a very heavy passenger (200kg - which is much more than 2 children and a weeks shopping) it stopped in 41m. What does the highway code say it should take to stop? 75m.Now that you're aware of how out-of-date the government figures are, go and read Brakes argument for blanket 20mph limits here.

This fact sheet explains why any speed above 20mph is too fast for towns and villages.
Unfortunately it does nothing of the sort. It takes some incorrect facts and feeds them into some GCSE level physics equations to produce some pointless results. I can only assume they attempt to confuse people with the complicated maths
. From this point, any one with an IQ above 80 must start to question their conclusions. So in summary, their site does contain drivel.
