Hi all, am trying to identify the source/issue of this noise that has recently started in my '95 1.8.
When car is cold & pulling away from a standstill (anything above gently that is or up a hill). I'm getting a short single metallic squeak coming from the rear, very hard to pinpoint precisely as it never happens when car has warmed up. Doesn't seem to make any difference whether pulling away in a straight line or to R or L. DS rear brake is sticking a tiny bit but I don't 'think' it's this.
Diff, axle lube, brakes, hubs? Anyone had any experience like this, or recognise from my woeful discription. Have ordered diff & gb oils.
I have some longish trips planned for the near future so will feel much happier if I can identify/sort this.
Thanks in advance

i have metallic pads and they squeal every so often, mostly when cold as i forgot to put copper stuff on the back of them when i stuck them on

maybe do them when you do the oils, or atleast see by jacking if they bind at all
