good story line, brilliantly acted by most involved but one question: do teenagers these days not speak?

that sounds like an old man question but I remember talking to my girlfriends at that age...

Aye a bit challenged in the old communication dept.

Where's it based? Can't place the accent, driving us nuts!

I watched and thought it was very, very good. Storyline, filming/pace, 'environment' & atmosphere created and acting all very successful. Some future stars there it seems.

I wondered about the accents given the coast/sea side as many of the characters had local east midland accents, I looked on the BBC page and followed a few links and sure enough the main girl + a couple of others were from Nottingham and the lad from Derby (stood out a mile to me).

I wonder if it was deliberate to not place it - mixing landscape and accents - so it could seem to be set anywhere in England?

In the credits was a 'thank you' to the pupils of a school in Eastbourne. Definitely not Eastbourne accents to my ear.

I think I read somewhere that the beach shots with the windfarms was Skegness and that the school was in Eastbourne...

Most (if not all) of the seaside shots were Skegness. There was a article in the local paper about it been filmed last year.

I believe the school used in the show was Ratton Secondary school which is just down the road from my parents house and I think the pool shots were filmed at The Soverign Centre which is on Eastbourne seafront.

I suppose the accents could fit in with Skegness then, maybe not a way to broaden it like I thought.
