If anyone is heading towards heathrow this afternoon, (Cargo and T4 side) there is apparently a large fire in a warehouse causing all sorts of fun and games...

I heard something about exploding forklifts...

i work just down the road from there and there were a couple of explosions, no doubt gas bottles on the forklifts.
Our boss told us to patrol the fence and be vigilant incase it was a distraction from something else going on.
Most likely a postal worker having a crafty fag

That would explain why the southern perimeter road was closed this morning as I was trying to get to work!

Ah, thats what it was. I saw the huge cloud of smoke from the M3 early yesterday afternoon, thinking it was from Heathrow and feared the worst. Why is it that terrorism springs to mind immediately these days frown

Forklift either backed into fuel canasters or was carrying them apparently so the Emirates office and warehouse blew up, everyone was evacuated safely though.

Bit of a bump here, but unfortunately, it turns out there was a custom Dolce & Gabanna Ferrari 458 destroyed in there!

According to the comments on that video Emirates are putting their liability at $46,994.70. (something about Montreal conventions, Special Drawing Rights and other gibberish)

Ouch!

The Explosion at 1 minute 22 made them jump, just as much as it made me jump....I was blue lighting passed the front of the Warehouse at the time!

Must have been an incredible fire to be at... Are you LFB?

Interested to know how big the "turnout" was...

Not connected, just interested how "major" it was...

No I'm not Fire, but it was a massive turnout. I've never seen so many fire Engine's, even had the British Red Cross turn up to assist with food and water for everyone (it was a hot day before the fire started biggrin )

I've got some pictures I'll try and post
