Next door neighbour is doing this, they have had it 2-3 weeks. I got up at 4.30am to go to work and heard moaning through my bathroom window so went out to investigate. Fed it some treats and gave it some kind words and a pat, talked to my wife on the phone at 6am ( we get up early wink ) and she did the same, but it's not really enough we think, so what do we do? Advice? Not our dog but want to do the best for it.

Speak to neighbor? RSPCA?
Could do, not sure how to go about it though, it's not real cruelty per se, it is cruelty by neglect. Fact is that although he is a bit of a **** we get on well with them, so it is a lot of things to consider.

I'm sort of looking for best ideas to make him stop it without making things worse.

RSPCA. Assaulting the owner is a very silly reaction.

What sort/breed of dog?

Does it have a kennel? Shelter? Food & Water?

But even then, I'd call the RSPCA

As long as it's got shelter and water, I don't see the problem tbh. Growing up, we had a couple of lab/collie crosses that spent their life outside with a kennel and pound.

Alsation.

I have suddenly come up with a brainwave, I will ring our old dog walker who will know better.

I don't want the RSPCA involved yet, they have enough to deal with.

Thanks for being a sounding board guys

RSPCA can now act upon mental well being of an animal not just whether food, water and shelter available.

Nothing wrong with dogs being outside dogs if done absolutely properly but it is not acceptable for a 10 week old to be out. Itis not even going to be properly covered with vacc yet. For socialising purposes alone it is wrong. Ok the weather is good but if it got a bit cool or started to rain, not right for such a youngster to deal with this alone.

Try and discuss with neighbours that you were suprised to be woken up by the pup as wouldn't expect it to be out at this age, if no good then has to be RSPCA, neighbours will probably know it's you even though RSPCA won't say.

Don't get people who take on pups and do this to them. Saw an ad other day for springer 10 weeks old, being rehomed due to work commitents, they could only have had the pup a couple of weeks did they not know this would be a problem!

If we are being proper about this then yes it is German Shepherd Dog. They are not recognised by the kennel club as Alsations (haven't been for a long time) however that's how many people still know them.

I think the answer lies in why so many Staffies can be seen at rehome centres, it is a badge or sticker that proves to be so much trouble. As always.

It wasn't the Kennel Club's recognition I was being petty about, it was the erroneous spelling of "Alsatian".

I don't really think correcting my spelling mistakes is helping me sort out how to help the dog.

Oh well, spelling more important than me trying to help a dog, you need to look in a mirror.

I will use the phone instead.
