Audio advertising...

Hey folks.

Just happened a few times to me this evening.

I have clicked on a few threads, and then continued to start reading.

Then I start to hear a voice of someone advertising something, but no pop-ups or nothing, just someone speaking. It stops after I go back onto another page...

Any idea what the problem could be?

Aye, its happening to me aswell. fking adverts for Air Wicks, wtf PistonHeads. Sort it out.

has just happened to me a couple of times, thought I had clicked on something accidently so I closed the PH tab and started again, but happened again without me even moving my mouse!!

thought it was my Pc but if it's happening to others, then guess it might be PH related!!

Was some detergent advert but couldnt find any visual advert just the sound!

Annoying me too, they should have a default mute setting if audio is on the adverts.

Yep me too, not cool, must put adblocker on my laptop.

Guys, this happened to me recently. Do a quick check, close all instances of internet explorer and go to your task manager and have a look at processes. If you have at least 2 instances of iexplore.exe running you have a virus which is hidden in your MBR, it's a new one that's going around and tends to go undetected by virus scanners at the moment.

Not here, running firefox, nothing to do with explorer in my task manager.

Strange. I was running firefox as well, have a look for a programme called loader.exe in your temp folder in local settings. It's exactly the same symptoms as I was getting.

Visual ad seems to load in about halfway down the topic on my laptop, god knows why. Can we have the air freshener ads etc removed please?

I do not appreciate this form of pushy advertising and unless there's an easy way to stop it, or you cease putting these adverts on PH, I will vote with my feet.

Fair enough. I had exactly the same thing running firefox, down to the vanish advert.

I'd really be interested to receive more information about the cleaning power of the bubbles in this new detergent - perhaps they can PM me?
