A car hit me from behind at the lights. I hit the breaks when the lights were Orange relised i would not make it and he slammed his breaks, but never Stoped in time.

we both agreed that at that point their was no damage to my bumper and that i was feeling Okay. I Asked for his details just in case their is damage After all it is almost Midnight, and i want to inspect the bumper during daylight. He wrote down Everything apart form his Insurance details and he just took a pic of my Number Plate.

The Problem Is that although the bumper is fine no damage or marks to it I am not. At the time of the Accident I said I was fine, but the morning after i had a pain in the back off my head/neck, its whiplash and today although still stiff its a lot better.

My Question is can i still ask him for his insurance details because their was no damage and at the time said i was fine/ Can he refuse.
Do i Need it if i phone my insurance company because I just want it as a precaution just in case the GP says the the injury is worse the i think Because right the pain has definitely eased

So the car hasn't got a mark on it but you have whiplash?

Pass his registration details to your insurance co. They'll sort it for you.

Because right the pain has definitely eased
Ibuprofen 400mg three times a day, Paracetamol 1g four times a day.

Job's a good'un.

lol sorry should have gone over it once i had written it. Not used to being up this early on a weekend. I blame the Heat.

Yes i have whiplash. It not about jumping on any claims bandwagon i have no intention of making a claim because although still stiff its getting better. Just wanted to know if i should at least notify my insurance that had an accident did happen and do i need his Insurance details because i know people who after a few weeks the pain comes back and have needed treetment at a cost.

You can say you have whiplash for sure? Self diagnosis?

As has been said, it's almost certainly muscular shock. Painkillers and take it easy for the weekend.

I simply struggle to see a correlation between not a scratch on your car and sudden whiplash.

Thats because of the cheap horrible hard seats Audi use along with the sport models having no springs

I thought Audi's were so well built that even if you got rear-ended by a lorry and got whiplash the car wouldn't be damaged.

Because it is.

Wiki said:
Whiplash symptoms might not always have any pathological (injury) explanation. "Volunteer studies of experimental, low-velocity rear-end collisions have shown a percentage of subjects to report short-lived symptoms", which can not be attributed to any pathogenic effect on the subjects neck.
Not suggesting starting a major claim for it, but it is what it is.
