Drivers who hate being overtaken
Discussion
Ok,
so today, sun is out, lovely dry roads etc what better day than to take ones P+J out for a spin over the hills in and around Buxton and Macclesfield.
The drive begins well, cars moving slower on the NSL roads are smoothly overtaken with no trauma to me or the other drivers.
Along the B5470 into Whaley bridge then out along the A5004 towards Buxton. For anybody that dosnt know this is quite a nice road.
Anyway this is when it happens ( exact spot= http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=kettlesh...
I come up behind a peugeot estate diesel doing 30 mph, I proceed to pass him, again no trauma. Then having completed the overtake Iam greeted from behind with flashing lights, honking horns and waving arms.
Now this is quite upsetting as I havnt done anything wrong, the chap carries on.
This gets me quite wound up I admit so I slow down to around 20mph to see what all the fuss is about.
I then think better of it, hold up my arms and carry on.
Next thing another car flashes me coming my way, marked camera van in lay by, thankyou.
So Iam driving around at 40mph and notice peugeot man pull into the layby and dash to camera van.
Now me thinks he was expecting to see officers and he was going to give it all the mad man driving thing.
I just carried on, he then appears in my rear view mirror again, Yawn, not again I think.
Anyway he follows me into Buxton and I pull a few turns to see if hes following me, he was, ok time to pull over I have had enough of this tosser.
Before I could pull over he clocks me and he beats and exit, not sure if he realised the size of me, put it this way I am pretty fit.
Anyway I try not to let these things bother me but today it really peed me off, what was his problem?
thanks for listening, as bob Hoskins once said "its good to talk"

Oh Yeah, not that I am an ageist but he was about 60ish.

I see/get this alot around the Ashdown Forest where the bunny huggers think they are saving the enviroment by driving everywhere at 20mph
What they seem to be totally ignorant of is the that their engines are pushing out far more stronger noxious chemicals at 20mph than they would be at say 60mph.....more green brain washing
Looks like you encounted one of these so called 'eco-warriors' who has decided that whatever speed he drives at is the maximum anybody else can drive at
You should get a pre-emptive strike in & report him to the
for a Section 59 antisocial behavour ticket

Bod: also notice you have a Dutton Phaeton, I had one of these and if I remember correctly it was quite a nippy little bugger, it provided many laughs espically when the roof blew off across the moors near Buxton.
Oh and not forgetting when raining you would be greeted with a nice cold shower from the bottoms of the door

The Phaeton or 'fatal' as most of my friends call it has x flow engine, Lotus block, domed cyl head, twin 45's, Piper 285 etc so does not hang around.....

Know what you mean about the roof...after the second time it happened I made up a new fixing method which cured that....only downside was it took a bit longer to fit....still if you stayed above 50mph the water went over the top
. Cured the door issue by gluing pipe insulation foam onto the canvas of the door...not more wet right arm One day I will bring it back out of hibernation...well as long as the forklift works

Upset any more tree huggers in the car today

No stereotypical assumptions made.
