My car is a 1988 series 2 350i and i have had one before but trying to get one from a local source is turning up the wrong one in that the pipe thread is too small.Sods law means that the paper work for the last one just says master cylinder with no reference numbers to go by,help please before next week end,John and Tobz

I'm pretty sure its a Land Rover 110 (Defender) master cylinder - cost just over £10. The thread on the rod might be slightly different, but can swap it over from the old one.

Why not just buy a bushing from brake hose to the top of the master cyl?
