Now, I am the first to admit that I know next to nothing about planes, but I found this story on another forum about a man who built a Sopwith Camel replca very interesting, and thought some on here may like to see it

WW! aircraft replicas are quite common. In fact, there are far more replica WW1 aircraft airworthy than genuine WW1 aircraft - which given that the war ended 92 years ago is not all that surprising.

The quality of replicas varies hugely. Some are more reptresentative in that they LOOK like the original but internally are quite different. Others, on the other hand, are authentic reproductions which would pass for an original in every detail.

Look at what Peter Jackson has built down in New Zealand.

It's a 100% authentic replica - including the original Beardmore engine.

Have a look at their site to see what else they are up to down there -

Peter Jackson is the man.

If you want some first world war models, check out Wingnut Wings. Some of the best kits I have ever seen.

They are fantastic aren't they - and I think reasonably priced for what you get.

The museum Peter Jackson has put together at Omaka near Blenheim is well worth a visit if you ever go to NZ - its smack in the middle of wine country too so lots of really nice places to stay / eat / drink as well.

Peter also has his own Gulfstream G550 to get him around when he's not playing with his WWI Squadrons.
