I'm about to take the plunge E350CDi Sport saloon, cuprite brown with chestnut leather, harmon kardon, media interface, digital radio, 19" wheels. Had a previous shape E280CDi Sport and it was great. Drove a coupe yest and it was pretty damn good.
Few questions to anyone who might own or be aware:
1. Is the current MY media interface compatible with Ipod Touch 3G?
2. Has anyone gone for the Brabus diesel remap, and want to tell me what they think?
3. Colour combo thoughts - Cuprite brown with chestnut leather - too much brown? I would have gone for black/black but thats what my last one was
4. Anyone got any photos of the new 19" wheel option on the car? Can't find it anywhere and its not on the configurator.
5. Am I an idiot to not get Comand?

thats a very strange choice of colour,
have you seen the colour in the flesh?
i did have a quick drive when they first came out nice drive smooth and powerful enough for a diesel,
the one thing i would have on the car is a panroof which gives a very airy feeling to it.
19inch wheels would be nice because i think they will fill the arches nicely and i would go for command good for resale.
hope that helps

Well, I've seen a lot of pics and also the colour swatch... its rare as anything so not many to see in the flesh. Theres a couple on 'trader and it does look pretty good IMO. It's v dark so would look black in most lighting. Not really that leftfield surely? Natural beige trim is also a possibility with that ext colour. Other colours maybe Indium Grey or ummmmmmm..... white. I saw one yesterday and it looked fantastic. However slightly concerned about residuals and the possible soon to pass fad of white cars being cool. However on sheer numbers there are tons of white in the dealer network, but only a few of other more 'sane' colours. Panoramic roof and Comand eh? That's £3k right there!have you seen the colour in the flesh?

i would go for white with the pan roof i think it looks realy good in that combo,it would probably worth more than the brown.
you might find if there are quite a few white ones in stock you could get a good deal on one.
Only problem is its on PCP so its mercs idea of residuals not mine! Salesman was telling me an anecdote about a woman who wanted a white SLK and the residual was £2k lower. Not sure if I believe, but will get him to check. you might find if there are quite a few white ones in stock you could get a good deal on one.
Certainly I agree with you, it looks great in white, and there are lots around so we are not the only ones!
This is interesting .. I'm thinking of moving from my 535D M to an E350 Coupe sports. I have decided on the 19 wheels, pan roof and a few other bits. Exterior silver (have black at the moment and sick of swirl marks etc) with red leather interior. I feel too old for white somehow (40). I don't know whether to spec sat nav etc as I use a tomtom at the moment which you can enter in the full postcode and gets you to the door .. My Dad has a merc and his sat nav only allows the first few digits of the postcode and doesn't take you to the door .. anyone know whether this is the case on the new coupe?

A lot of my decisions are to do with cost on PCP rather than outright. I have binned the idea of white, even the nice met white you can get on the coupe as (on Merc finance at least) it drops residuals by about £2k, and this is over and above the cost of met if you choose that white variant! So, sod that. I think probably obsidian or one of the greys, with natural or almond beige leather, 19" wheels, Harmon Kardon and Comand. I thought the same as you re sat nav - if you have a TT then why pay for it, but you might reconsider depending on how you are paying for the car. I believe you can postcode search, although not sure to what degree. Comand never used to be able to do that at all in the prev gen E-class. Also it includes traffic avoidance, voice control, hard disk for putting music or a movie on to, and also Ipod connect and control. £2300 for this sounds a lot, but as it affects residuals quite a bit, it only works out about a tenner a month on PCP, so I'm going for it and giving the TomTom to my missus.

well, i think based on 6+35 it works out about 550pcm or something. Merc has a "dealer deposit contribution" deal and low rate finance on most models... apart from the coupe! Well, the deal is there but the contrib (i.e. discount basically) is only about £400 and the rate is about 2pc higher on the APR but still low. On the spec I was after the GFV is £25500. However, if its your own business then generally business deals are way more favourable at the mo, and have been for a while. Will be a ton cheaper to get business contract hire, providing your business is one that will qualify. If I were you I would get the saloon, I had the same dilemma with the my situation but i only have one kid! Saloon seems to work about about £50 a month cheaper too (probs cos of the higher deposit contrib and lower rate - not sure if this translates to BCH).
