Firstly i will give you a quick outline to this as its a really stty story and still feel a bit "out of it".
My Baby boy was born on Wednesday evening so me and a few pals decided to have a few drinks on Thursday night.

All went well, had a great time and as I was making my way home alone, reasonably sober I might add as I remember the whole of this incident very clearly. I came across a rather unsavoury young character running about the main street with his shirt off being extremly agressive he then decided he didnt like the look of me. This must have been the reason as I have never seen this chap before and not a word was exchanged between us. Anyway this was the result...

As you can understand I am extremely pissed off about this as I now have a wife and family that are only just speaking to me and a newborn son that I can only see with one eye.
I was taken to A+E and stayed all night and next day. He is still locked up and will be in court tomorrow.

I was told that I have no permanent damage (apart from the scar from the stitches) but I find now that I can open my eye a little, that they are mis-aligned, like looking through two telescopes pointing different directions.
I am presuming this is due to the swelling causing the eye to change shape but I cant help being a bit worried. Anybody had similiar injuries could advise?

Mods, please move this to the lounge if my rambling warrants it.

Cheers.

Had loads from the ring, sometimes with symptoms like yours, no problems now.

It's a bit stty because you can't have photos of you and your baby.

Remember for next time, if someone is coming at you punch first wink

What did he hit you with - car?!

Seriously, don't sweat it - you're still the daddy! Congrats, BTW.

I have managed a couple photos from a strategic angle!
I didnt even see him coming! Felt like I had been hit with a housebrick though!

Repect to you sir, well done on becoming a father, and don't let it get you down.

Similar thing happened to me about 3 years back, about 25-30/15-19 year olds jumped on me and a mate.

Didn't go down though, and i still got to the pub that night. Ok i looked like a thug and my whole face was swollen, but i wasn't letting the pondlife ruin my evening! (sorry o/t)

Hope the knob gets what he deserves (Altough such a result is a rare thing these days it seems)

Thanks for the words of support, he should be in court tomorrow so I will let you all know what the outcome is.
The eye is getting better all the time, open now although I look like the Terminator.

Hi I'm an eye surgeon. I hope you were seen by an eye doctor, particularly if your vision was affected. There could be a variety of reasons behind this, but you'd need to be examined thoroughly by an eye specialist, which A&E can't really do. If your vision is persisting to be blurry or problematic ask for a referral. I'd want to see a patient like yourself fairly urgently ie within 24 hours, to ensure there was no structural damage to the inside of the eye or any inflammation caused by the trauma.

I did have an appointment with the eye surgery at Aberdeen hospital. They did a few tests involving a very bright light (I presume to look into the back of my eye) and a light on a stick (a bit like E.Ts finger!) that was pressed onto my eye and moved up and down.
I have to go back in two weeks.
My vision is getting better slowly but is still blurry/out of focus, far from perfect.
