i'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question ..................... did anyone else find the picture quality of todays GP to be really poor. I've noticed before that some GPs have better pic quality than others (Australia always seems dire). What is the reason for this ?

Bit rate use to transmit the program material, weather playing havoc with the Sky signal (most channels should be affected if that's the case).

Okay for me on Freeveiw, hopefully they will start filming and showing in HD next season.

Well - it is already filmed with HD sources as the same cameras are used as for the Porsche Supercup support races that are shown on EurosportHD. Why the F1 feed is not made available for HD broadcast is a question for Bernie...

Being shown on Eurosport HD doesn't actually mean it's HD. Look at channels like Sky 1 HD which still shows the Simpsons. I'm not 100% on Eurosport HD, but lots of the HD channels are just upscaled to HD when the content is SD.

Formula 1 don't have a full HD setup yet, the same kit is used for the Porsche Supercup and the main F1 race.
