Hello

We recently moved into a new place and bought a new tv etc but the way the lounge is set out means the tv has to go in the corner.

However this corner is less than 90 degrees and is a bit akward.

que the crappy pics: (yes i know, its a coffee table and full of junk)

I would like it to look smart and am considering 2 options.

1. getting something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SWIVEL-CANTILEVER-ARM-CORNER... and mounting the tv so it sits in the same position as it now just a bit higher

2. getting one of these http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S598504... and fitting it so it sits just off the wall like so:

any advise or better suggestions?

I'd probably do something like your first picture but with 2 wooden beams screwed across the corner to the wall at the correct angle and a flat mount then screwed to that. I don't know what your walls are like for screwing into though...! Good luck biggrin

What is the wall construction? If solid or if you can pick up on a stud then use the bracket. The small box section in the corner, is this covering pipes? Is It solid? If not you may be able to pass your cables up the box section to hide them??

Well it's a brand new build apartment so the internal Walls are like paper, luckily the 2 Walls in this particular corner are better, the left one is an external wall and the right one is next-door so is thicker.

I have just called a carpenter and he is popping around this week to take a Look.

If you remove a socket plate on the left hand wall, you should be able to see the construction of the wall.

Personally I'd use a Cinemax CB3250 with the CBSK Shelf kit.

I second this ... best option for corner located TV's.

Here is how it turned out,

I got my dad down and he customised a bracket out of mdf,

I then popped to ikea and brought some LEDs and a tv cabinet and below is the result.

What do you think?

Like it, the LEDs will split opinion, but i think they look smart, and have been looking at getting some for ours!

Excellent. I have a similar issue with a 50 inch Plasma having to go in a corner of the room.
