Idle Problem

Took the car down to Devon over the weekend and decided to fill up with some V-Power; it was the best part of a full tank of the stuff. Car drove fine on the way down, but on the way back we pulled off to fill up again and the car cut out at the junction of the sliproad; to say I crapped myself is a bit of an understatement! Re-started the car, but found I had to keep the revs up with the accelerator to stop her stalling. Filled up with normal 95 RON petrol at the station and got back on the motorway. By the time we got home, the idle seemed to have settled again.

Has anyone else had anything like this and/or know what the likey issue is? Should I be resetting the adaptive maps for the higher RON rating?

Yep, had this happen last year. Ended up taking it down to Dulfords where they reset the idle settings. They had to take the air box off and adjusted the idle settings for each cylinder. Took about 1/2 an hour. Mine was cutting out when stationary in traffic. Was most annoying as I had to keep the revs up all the time.

Anyway it was sorted in no time.

Funny, had similar with mine this weekend, but t'other way round. Was idling at 450/500 and threatening to stall when cold after I filled up with 95ron on Friday. Filled up again on Sun am (was a good weekend :-) with 99ron and idling was much better this morning. I was mixing between standard and super but will stick with 99 from now on
