M1 Camera van

Coming back up the motorway the other night and I saw an old beat up police van parked in the police only parking on the M1 south bound near junction 27. Back doors were open for business, obviously not selling sandwhich's though ,if he was I bet you get a free 60 quid fine with them and three points.

Boo! I might have tested out the new tarmac between J26 and J27 very early one morning in the 182. Must have got up to at least 71mph or even 72mph officer

Was it "cash converters" or ANPR . Never seen a cash collector on the motorway ,but ANPR( in search of ,nudge ,wink/wink, terrorists are common .

They were ANPRs I think because they had the round camera thingy on the tripods. I have seen the same thing on the A52 into Derby but that vehicle is labelled up DVLA IIRC.

There were 3 Range Rovers in full regalia just before J26 southbound too.
