They've got 50% discounts for now till Ooctober, and it's a nice hotel next to Karon Beach.

40 pounds in Phucket is not cheap, it will get you anywhere except the Holiday Inn type places, 5 pound is cheap 15 pound is resonable, try
Yorkshire Inn if your on your own, C and N (This good value), Sand Hotel (if your on your own Has a bar where the unwanted girls go at 2pm), P2 Bungalow is OK, Edan Bungalow is excellent
Seriously the C and N is good and central, and the C and N resort is excellent a bit further out and just about walking distence to bangla road, which makes it quit in the night, it where I stayed last time I was in Phucket with the family.
Holiday Inn is great and you may get close to 40 pound low season.
You should get a good place for 1200 Baht with breakfast for 2, (25 pound)
If you need more post again and I'll add to the list.

One more the Coo village will be around 30 pound and is very good, excellent breakfast, but the singer in the bar at night is cr*p so you'll need to go out

If you are looking for somewhere right on the beach in the most quietest part of the Phuket I can recomend this place, it is run my a legend of an expat. http://mai-khao-beach.com/

It is about £10-£20 per night, the food is great also.

Do you have any idea of where you would like to stay on Phuket?
The difference between resorts is huge.
You have the "Blackpool with sunshine" Patong, right up to stunning secluded beaches.
Also, what are you looking for close to where you stay?

You could look here, for some good rates http://www.sawadee.com/hotels/phuket.html

Hi,

Not patong, bit more chilled than that, but with still a town to walk to and a few drinking holes.

The first reply looks great with good reviews. but bit pricey..

Anyone got a holiday home there? I'll trade a week smile

Try this place.

http://www.yorkshireinn.com/index-2.html

We stayed there a few years back and the owner (I'm assuming it is the same guy) was an ex-European PGA pro who thrashed me, a mate and my dad round the Phuket Country Club a few times. Nice bloke and a friendly vibe in the place - 5 min walk from the beach.

Karon Beach is cool. There will be plenty of places with spare rooms. When we were travelling we just turned up, had a look around to get a feel for the place and booked what we liked and paid around 15 a night iirc. Was some small beachside cottages with an attached restaurant, and not far from the boxing stadium and the superb row of restaurants nearby.
