Just thought I'd put the word out. I've built an information repository for the 80-87 Turbo Esprit cars.

I installed and populated some information using wiki. If you're unfamilar with wiki it's a tool used a lot for documentation of open source software. Basically it allows users to post and change information. It's not a message board, but it is a place where you can ask questions and get answers.

If you're a Turbo Esprit owner, please take a look, and please contribute!

Hi,

Interesting project. I'm not sure I need another list though. Currently, a variety of inaccuracies exist in the information contained, what are your sources? Best of Luck. Happy Motoring!... Jim'85TE

Well the idea is that it's not like a message board, but just a repository of information. It not something that you'll be checking on a daily or weekly basis like this forum, but a place where you might post something that will be valuable to other owners. Tips, tricks or whatever. If you find a great new oil filter, tool or product you can post it here on a forum, but it will get lost over time. Posting it on the wiki means it will always be there when someone is looking for it.

I agree that we don't need another message board. What we DO need is a place to store some of the facts and knowledge that users (such as yourself) have. There are simple questions and answers that are not easy to find (or are incorrect on message boards.) Especially for the early turbo charged cars that fall into this gap between the Stevens Esprits and the Normally Aspirated cars.

This is one of the reasons I wanted to start this. The information contained is stuff that I've tried to collect over time. So my sources are distilled from the Lotus manuals, Piston Heads and the Yahoo forums (mostly.) I guess that's the point, there isn't a source for this information other than message boards (and it's not always easy to find a speedy correct answer on a message board.)

The way this is set up is to allow ANYONE to go in and change the information (even if you put a note that the information is inaccurate.) I don't pretend to be an expert, but I would hope that those more knowledgeable than me might take an interest in it.

Jim.. Perhaps you could extract some of your technical articles from past postings and add them to the Wiki. That would be a great contribution. Jan

The Early Esprit Turbo site is looking better every day. We S3 owners know how hard it can be sifting thru all the Esprit information on the www. The idea of the site is to collect and log as much fact and knowledge about the early S3 cars and present it all in one place. So if you have any good info or data on the early cars please feel free to add you 0.02.
