My old man placed a order the other week for a XF-S portfolio and well the dealer told him that Jaguar are not currently offering the LED running lamps as there have been lots of problems with them. Something to do with water getting into them apparently, but said they can always fit them at a later date when they are sorted and apparently LED daytime lamps are going to become compulsory on all new cars from next year.

Just wondered if anyone else had heard about this.

In 2008 a new law was passed by the European Commission that meant all new cars and small vans purchased after February 2011 had to have daytime running lights, and lorries will follow suit from August 2012. The new vehicles will have the daytime running lights (DRL) that come on automatically when the engine is started. This law will not affect cars bought before this period and DRL´s will not have to be retro fitted

If it stops old dodderers pulling out in front of me quite so often, then I'm all for them.

This worst problem I have with people pulling out in front of me is when I'm in my XK150, numpties thinking
"I'd better get out for that old thing, don't want to get stuck behind him. "
They then tend to look very crest fallen when you over take them as soon it's clear to do so rofl

Have you got some more pics of the 150? Looks smart at the front.

Lots, how many would you like? Dinkel hasn't managed to capture it yet, but Lowdrag got some nice ones at Goodwood a couple of months back

See the "Playtime at Goodwood" thread over in the classic cars forum
