Anyone know of a firm that can do high quality blasting/cleaning and powder coating in Stirling or Falkirk areas ? I need some engine ancillaries cleaned (surface rust removed) and then powder coated.

Cheers

I have used Williams Powder Coating before and he made a grand job. Well priced as well. 01324 630050.

He is behind B and Q in Falkirk

I'll second Wullie at Williams Powdercoating in Falkirk - had alloys done in the past and he powdercoated the sidebars on my van last week. Always been happy with the quality of his work.

Probably the best pic I have of the sidebars:

Ally that's a seriously tasty van!

Was reading about the colour coding you got done lastnight in Stewart Rd. I was looking for a half decent paint shop and powdercoaters so seems it's my lucky day!

Cheers.

What kind of timescale do they do alloys in? I'm looking to get mine done on my new car eventually. Had them done in Livingston on my old Ibiza and wasn't very happy with the finish or the fact that the guy stripped the threads on the wheelnuts when doing so.

He can do them in 48hrs, but it depends how busy he is. He was quite busy when I first asked him about doing my sidebars, but best option is probably asking him for a date to do them. One negative thing I'll say is that the balancing of the wheels wasn't great afterwards, so I had them rebalanced elsewhere!

It was my (mk4 Cupra) Ibiza wheels I had down there, very happy.

Neelyd recommended the place in the thread I started, and I'd recommend him too: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Is Williams powder coating any good for alloy repairs?

Powder coating covers the entire wheel, so I guess it could be useful. My Ibiza alloy design were those ones with protruding spokes - they stuck out much further than the rims due to having to bend around the 4-pot calipers. Mine had scrapes right up the spokes when I bought it, powdercoating them at Williams filled in all the scrapes and left a smooth finish.

Cheers for the reply. Went down to williams and he said the best option was to paint the wheel so he recommended pheonix alloys so I have dropped them an e-mail.

Williams is also busy upto his eyeballs and is not taking any more work at the moment.
