OK, so you are going travelling for a substantial amount of time, lets say 6 months.

What is the one gadget that you simply could not live without?

My Leatherman was invaluable.

Having a USB key around my neck on a (PH as it happens biggrin) lanyard was handy, too. Had itineraries, flight numbers, passport details, contacts at home etc, as well as photo backups. I did have a netbook for a few months, but it got nicked - I didn't find it too much hassle using internet cafes and Apple Stores instead as and when I could.

My list includes a Victorinox Cybertool, Sony ICF-SW100 and a Garmin eTrex Vista among loads of other less important things.
