Hi all,

I have a Micron Exhaust I need a baffle for but can't find a UK site or contact info for them on Google, only the US site - anyone know if Micron have an office in the UK, or who their official UK distributor is?

Cheers!

Oh bugger. That is highly annoying.

Standard GSX-R750 exhaust is 102db.

Micron is considerably louder.

Brands trackday is 101db limit.

Again, oh bugger.

Defo bust.. you might on the off chance want to try George White's simply as they have/had a ton on Micron stock being sold off cheap.
I bought brand new road legal cans for my blackbird off their ebay outlet store for example. They might have repacking kits/baffles etc in stock.

Or.. ebay for db killers.. I ran those on my micron race cans before I got the set mentioned above.

OK, will give it a go.

Thing is, the exhaust came with a baffle which fits the hole but isn't really the right shape (so correct diameter, but the exhaust pipe is slash cut and the baffle isn't!), but holding it in place it makes absolutely no difference to the noise of the exhaust! Don't want to go buy another one that again makes no difference!

Did a day at Brands GP earlier this year at 101 db and most stuff was getting through apart from the odd idiot with Racefit Growler or similar my mate got his KTM RC8 with full akrapovic exhaust got through fairly easily.

If you still are worried work out a way of blocking up the end of the baffle (i.e the end furthest in the can) with a coke can, baked bean tin c/w jubilee clip or something before popping it in then remove it before going out. Your "I've passed sound testing" sticker will be marked with a "B" in marker pen if you've passed the test with a removeable baffle - this comes off with a bit of petrol.

Or do like the sidecars boys do and unplug the clocks - give me 7000rpm mate - mmmm 'bout there-ish.

The standard exhaust is 102 db? Measured how??? Noise test procedures vary considerably from circuit to circuit.

Micron was a brand of CLF Industries or something, think they also made car exhausts Magna-something.

Definately went bust. Apparently blaming (at the time) all the money they poured into hydro-forming technologies.

Pretty sure, unless Pete Gibson worked with them at some time. He developed the Allspeeds while micron had their own version??

I'm sure Tony from Stinkwheels can put us right on it.

Don't know, but that's what the stamp on the frame says, which isn't overly helpful!!

Blimey, that was good. I was tested at 99 with a full (and old) Micron system.

I did notice the weasel who did the testing nosing around the garages later that morning

Well that's what I would have thought, but apparently a few K6/7 owners have had problems before!

I was noise tested at Cadwell and I'm sure it was around 98/99db with the standard exhaust in place but can't be sure - and the engine was cold! Hmm...
