PS3 Tiger Woods 2010 online play

Hi,
Has anyone managed to play TW 2010 online on the PS3 ?

I keep getting "Game session is no longer available" when I try to organise a game with friends

Good point Dave , I think it's TW 2011 I have. I was very dissapointed when I saw it had Tiger's favourite holes !! :-)

I used to love the older tiger woods games. Are they as good as they were or are they a bit poop these days?

If the new one is good we should get a PH golf event on the go

The graphics aren't brilliant but you can play massive tournaments online which is a selling point.

I've been trying all last week to play my friend online but it just keeps timing out , very annoying.

He's managed to play other people so maybe he's just running scared !

What is the putting system like these days? I know this is one aspect that changes with pretty much every incarnation of the series and am wondering whether its right on this one or a little bit wide of the mark as it has been a couple of times before?

Putting is still annoying , on the beginners level there is a function that shows you the line.

Has anybody played the earlier ones to compare them to the new?

Would like to get an updated version but as good as TW2005 is, it has been played. To death.

The new TW 2011 , you can play a Ryder cup style game so I think 24 people in one game.

There is a lobby system and I finally managed to play online last night against 2 guys who have played alot more TW than myself. We played pairs matchplay and we lost by 4 holes. I did like the fact that even though we were playing against each other , if someone made a good shot then they were congratulated.

I used to love the tw series, but they're running out of ideas and making them a bit cheesey with there CoD like xp and focus points (or whatever it was called in the tw11 demo).

I loved PGATIII on the MegaDrive, 2004 on the Ps1, and 2007 on the PsP...

Bought 2009 for the PsP and hated it, it was too slow (trying to make it look good vs PsP limited capabilities) and, well, a bit "clunky"...

Changing the putting to warrant releasing a "new" version is dumb, stick to one, and make your money from new courses (that weren't already in an older version of the game, that's just ghey!).

I'd love to play a few rounds on some of the local courses, not just the same ten or twelve that pop up in all the other games...
