It's on Quest now if anyone is interested. (Ch 38 if you're on Freeview) I'm getting quite into seeing the AC Cobra take shape biggrin

Not over keen on the presenter Mark Evans? But a decent program. Has also made a 4x4 is born. An MG is born. Was thinking earlier James May would be good at this?

he'd be too busy making sure his spanners were back in their correct place.

Good programme, but thought A Car Is Re-Born was better (E-Type resto).

He has also built a helicopter, a plane, a Harley, a trike, a track car and various other stuff over the years. His workshop looks interesting and well equiped and seems to be based on a farm.

What happens to these projects once he has finished?

He keeps them I believe.
If my memory serves me right, the E Type restoration in A Car is Re-Born cost £70,000 all in!! :-O

May be a farm as his previous profession is/was Vet

That quality of the engine recon, and full body re-spray alone looked worth it. The paint man, whilst looking like a bouncer, worked magic; most impressive part of the series for me.

I've been watching this too. I actually quite like Mark Evans. I can relate to him - not knowing a lot about mechanics but loving cars. Pretty impressive what he's accomplished in a barn and some tools. Today he had the SVA test and passed, next episode (tomorrow) is him taking his Cobra to a track.

Better than a lot of the programs on TV imo, despite the obviously low production values.

Quest have shown the plane, helicopter, MGB, bike (Triumph Bonneville 650, Harley 45, VW trike), Westfield, Land Rover, and Pilgrim "Cobra" series, most of them twice.

Also a couple of narrowboat series from the same production company.

The only one they haven't shown is the E-Type.

Perhaps I missed it, then. I'll look out for the next showing.

I may well be wrong, Quest do tend to repeat on a regular basis. Will give a heads up if I see it..

I haven't watched any of the programmes, but he's been part of the team on Inside Nature's Giants, and is the RSPCA's chief veterinary adviser.
