Classic circuit facilities!

Hi all,
a weekend of highs and lows for me,overall had a great time took whole family for the first time kids loved the camping!, weather great,the thing that I found really annoying was TBH was the lack of facilities in the circuit compared to the 24hr taking into account having young kids the lack of available drinks and stuff was almost dangerous in the high tempreatures, many times we had to queue fo 30mins to give 3euros for a small bottle of warm water,and stand in the only ice cream queue 30 deep in people,in the circuit we were not allowed in the tetre rouge entrance with a weekend general admission ticket! resulting in a round trip with 3kids on foot to the ticket office further round the circuit then a 30min walk in sahara like tempreatures acroos from south of the buggati circuit, for those who know the circuit not a nice walk! with really nothing in the circuit from tetre rouge up to the dunlop bridge,the day inc our tickets came to nearly 300 euros! however the sight of the 917 coming down the mulsanne (not in the circuit )was a dream come true for me!One more of my boxes ticked heaven!
I did miss there not being a race though not one you could follow and wake at 3am and think "are the Audis still winning" ect ect.
All in all though an enjoyable time but not as exciting as the race for me though the "chav" elements absence was very nice!
I think I was expecting to much from the racing though the drivers get 10/10 from me they were driving as hard as they could in the conditions for the most part with the odd car clearly cruising I can only imagine the temp numbers in those old cars!Im a lot happier with the weekend when not comparing it to the 24hr,just loved the cars though they more than made up for it.

I have nothing to complain about at all, from the whole weekend. But I think you're right - one must consider it an event in its own right - not an adjunct to, or a classic version, of the 24
It's an opportunity to see car after car after car (on the roads and on the track) of types and in numbers that one doesn't get an opportunity to anywhere else. It's a giant mobile car show - on the roads and on the track. Anything else is a bonus
There were a lot of bonuses for me, a big one being meeting some really lovely people. The vibe was really wonderful, and people were so friendly and open

Got back yesterday night after a fabulous weekend. Friend drove in a Cerbera. Met up with 3 other cars at Portsmouth and 2 others at Gase for one of the most memorable drives I have ever had. The camping at Karting Nord was basic but only short queues for the toilet and showers. Was only about 100 yards from circuit so constant noise from cars was wonderful. Went to Arnarge for meals which was again an experience, with the massive variety of cars passing and great atmosphere and chatting with new friends.
My main thing to tick off the box was watching at night which I did at Arnarge and at the camp site. Words cannot describe the experience of the noise of the 917's and M1's. The M1's were actually painful with the volume.
My mate took me in the Cerbera on the 3 parade laps which was a bit like the most dangerous track day I have been on with the standard of some of the driving but I had to pinch myself to realise that it was not a dream barelling along the Mulsane straight at 170.
Trip back took in country C roads up to the Landing beaches in the sun in a Chimaera (thanks Don for the driving) and then the Seacat home. Perfect motoring weekend.

Me and a friend had our tents in the Snoring Triangle - we thought we might wake up to find we had disappeared, sucked into the lungs of one of the three Snorateers surrounding us, Moby Dick styleeGotta love the camp-site racket at 24 - drowns out noises no stranger should hear
