Paint pen

Hey guys & girls,

I need a paint pen as I have a couple of chips in tbe paintwork. Anyone know wherevi can get this?

I have a red bull blue t350.

Halfords do "holts" 100ml touch up pens mixed to any colour code, (if you do a search on here there is a list of colour codes somewhere) If possible i would try to find someone who knows what they are doing mind! - it says on the one i got "no responsibility for colour variance accepted after use" i am sure other motorfactors who sell paint will also do touch up pens.

www.mbscustompaints.com do reflex colours touch up pots (with small brush) so might to red bull blue too.

I'm amazed Paints4u can't do it, they're usually the first port of call for a few Tiv owners I know.

You could also try http://www.expresspaints.co.uk ; they're based in the Portsmouth area and are quite good; certinaly reasonably priced.

Could also try http://www.auto-paint.co.uk ; they stock flips so might be a good start for some of the more unusual colours.

mix your colour as it is a chromatic colour and we do not stock the

The 2 options that I have previously used:

1. Andrew (01253 595 800) at Surface & Design (TVR Paint Specialists up in Blackpool) - [e-mail] , who will be able to supply you with a small touch up (if in stock) that is suitable for stone chip repair, the cost is approx £30.42 (inc VAT and P&P - well that was the price for the Reflex Green I ordered).

2. MBS, as others have mentioned - contact Rick (has a PH profile as Mr Colour), who is excellent and left the following message on an associated post:

'Think I may be able to offer you and other TVR owners a solution to the problem of paint colours!
Whilst everyone knows sourcing these paints is a common problem, there is a solution available.
The Reflex / flip range of paints are now available here in the UK along with most other TVR colours.
They can be supplied in various sizes starting from only 100ml and are also available in 400ml aerosols and touch-up pens'.

These speciality paints are manufactured by International Colours and are available from their online store at:

Just to add to the topic, I previously contacted CHIP EX (www.chipex.co.uk) as I had seen their 3-stage repair kit advert in the TVRCC Sprint Magazine. I spoke to Johnny GRAHAM (07540 875 945)- [e-mail], who was brilliant in trying to find a solution. However, due to the special nature of the colour the end result was:

'The Reflex Green colour that you have requested is actually a Chromaflare colour which sadly we cannot match due to the special tinting qualities within this type of paint'.

They may be very good option for those reading this but not requiring a non-reflex / flip colour however.

I had only used a very small amount from a full touch up bottle and wouldn't want anything for it but have just gone to check it in the garage and it has dried out. Really sorry to have raised your hopes.
