Short version of long story- need 2 Sandisk Extreme IV 8gb CF cards for this saturday- present for our photographer at our wedding.

2 online suppliers have let us down now and its getting a bit tight for time.

Anyone know of a shop that shows stock?

I think Extreme IV has been discontinued. This is faster though:

god its all so confusing!

Someone should discuss range rationalisation with them. I ignored that 60mb/s one as it seemed sensible to assume that the Extreme IV was better than a normal Extreme.

edited to make more sense of my last sentence

For ultra fast delivery you cannot beat e-buyer IME. Don't know whether they stock them though - have a luck they sell all sorts of electrickery and computer stuff.

Sandisk recently renamed their CF cards.

It used to be Ultra II (15 mb/s speed), Extreme III (30 mb/s), Extreme IV (45 mb/s).

It's now Ultra (30mb/s), Extreme (60 mb/s), Extreme Pro (90 mb/s).

I'm sure anyone wanting an old Extreme IV would be happy with a new Extreme like the one I linked to.

SamHH is right, that is Sandisk's new model line up,

If you are currently using Extreme IV's and are happy that you/your camera never exceeds the cards maximum writing speed of 45mb per second, then the new Extreme is a very good choice of card for you to get.

60mb per second,
UDMA Enabled
Recovery software provided
Works in temperatures between -25c to +85c
Lifetime Warranty...

All the usual Sandisk stuff...

I know that Park Cameras in West Sussex have them in stock, i think 8gb was £74.99, and 16gb was £99.99...

Here's there website... http://www.parkcameras.com/

On a D700 a max Raw file is 25Mb and a Max Jpeg file is 3.2Mb and max frame rate is 5/second. The max data rate is 141Mbs but the memory buffer is 30 frames so unless sustained Raw + Jpeg shooting which at a wedding I doubt 60Mbs is more than adequate. Or put it another way 2.5 frames / sec constant until the card is full is all a 60Mbs card can handle. I doubt anyone does that. I've been using 30Mbs cards on fast paced shoots for ages and never had a problem.

Yep those are what my manual says. Anyway, I was using the realistic worst case scenario and theorising fast cards aren't necessary.
